One in three adults is affected by high blood pressure (or ‘hypertension’), and most are unaware of it because they have no symptoms. That is why high blood pressure is called ‘the silent killer’, mainly causing heart attacks and strokes. We are dedicated to raising awareness and understanding of high blood pressure, training doctors and nurses in its best management, and improving its treatment through vital research, including ways to tailor the treatment for the individual (‘personalised’ medicine).
